03/11/2017 I've added a New indoor balsa supplier to the Freeflight Construction Supplies page: Nick Aikman's Green-Man Balsa. Nick cuts the finest indoor balsa on the planet. He lives in the U.K., so you'll need PayPal to do business with him. There's no web-site, but he does have a nice sales sheet complete with pictures and contact information. ![]() Nick Aikman can be reached at: Green - Man Balsa Nick Aikman 4A Borough Street Kegworth Derby DE74 2FF England nickaikman@hotmail.com |

06/13/2015![]() The magnifying stand helped a LOT! |
12/21/2014 I've added a build article with photos for a 1/48 scale card model of a Link Trainer and a scratchbuilt desk to go with it to the Plastic Modeling page. The finished model was part of a Trainer Display that appeared in the NWSM display case from August 2, 2012 to December 6, 2012. |
11/06/2014 I've added an update page for my No-Cal Flying Flea plan. I built a new one to replace my original No-Cal Flying Flea. On the new version, I dispensed with the lifting rear wing and incorporated a flat-plate rear wing, turning it into a stabilizer, which produced a more normal flying model, and also gave it increased duration. |
11/05/2014 I've added a page about Flight-Trimming No-Cals, along with two pages on finding the Root Mean Chord of a wing - one showing how to find the Root Mean Chord using the quadratic equation, and the other showing how to find it by graphical analysis. I've also added three color profiles for the three versions of the Kawanishi N1K1-J "Shiden" No-Cal that can be modeled from My N1K1-J Shiden No-Cal plan. |
07/27/2014 I've added a short build article of the old 1/72 scale Condor Heinkel He-178 V1 with photos to the Plastic Modeling page. |
07/07/2014 I've added the second part of the build article on the old MPC STAR WARS B-Wing Heavy Assault Starfighter to the Plastic Modeling page. Lots of photos on this one. |
06/10/2014 I've slowly been adding to the Plastic Modeling page (here), and tonight I've added the first part in a build article on the old MPC STAR WARS B-Wing Heavy Assault Fighter. This build shows that a lot can be done to even the simplest of kits. I'll be adding more to this build page later, but for now, you can check out the progress so far, and also the other plastic models on the Plastic Modeling page. |
05/14/2014 Several years ago, I lost my No-Cal Cessna CR-3 on an OOS flight. I finally decided to replace it, as it was one of my first No-Cal designs, and is still one of my favorites. I included several modifications to the new build, and made a page for them. Here's the link to the No-Cal CR-3 modifications page: My New No-Cal Cessna CR-3 and some Modifications |
05/14/2014 I'm expanding the section on my plastic model builds. Here's a link to that page: Some of my plastic scale model builds |
