I've added a New indoor balsa supplier to the Freeflight Construction Supplies page:

Nick Aikman's Green-Man Balsa.

Nick cuts the finest indoor balsa on the planet. He lives in the U.K., so you'll need PayPal to do business with him. There's no web-site, but he does have a nice sales sheet complete with pictures and contact information.

Nick's sale sheet can be viewed here.

Nick Aikman can be reached at:

I've added a link for my Whittle W1 turbojet engine build to the Plastic Modeling page. The finished model is part of the NWSM 'X-Planes' display at the MoF that will run from December 2015 to March 2016.
10/07/2015
Starting yet another new No-Cal project over on the 'building board' page.

09/27/2015
Check out the fuselage structure for my Luscombe Model 10 No-Cal over on the 'building board' page, along with a couple of cool new No-Cal projects I'm working on drawings for.

06/17/2015
I've added a link for my Me-109G "hoimann" build to the Plastic Modeling page. The finished model was part of the July 2010 NWSM 'Strangers in a Strange Land" display of captured enemy aircraft in markings other than their own.
06/13/2015
I've added a page for the magnifying stand I used to help paint the name "hoimann" on the front of the Me-109G "hoimann".

The magnifying stand helped a LOT!
12/21/2014
I've added a build article with photos for a 1/48 scale card model of a Link Trainer and a scratchbuilt desk to go with it to the Plastic Modeling page. The finished model was part of a Trainer Display that appeared in the NWSM display case from August 2, 2012 to December 6, 2012.
11/06/2014
I've added an update page for my No-Cal Flying Flea plan. I built a new one to replace my original No-Cal Flying Flea. On the new version, I dispensed with the lifting rear wing and incorporated a flat-plate rear wing, turning it into a stabilizer, which produced a more normal flying model, and also gave it increased duration.

11/05/2014
I've added a page about Flight-Trimming No-Cals, along with two pages on finding the Root Mean Chord of a wing - one showing how to find the Root Mean Chord using the quadratic equation, and the other showing how to find it by graphical analysis.

I've also added three color profiles for the three versions of the Kawanishi N1K1-J "Shiden" No-Cal that can be modeled from My N1K1-J Shiden No-Cal plan.

07/27/2014
I've added a short build article of the old 1/72 scale Condor Heinkel He-178 V1 with photos to the Plastic Modeling page.

07/07/2014
I've added the second part of the build article on the old MPC STAR WARS B-Wing Heavy Assault Starfighter to the Plastic Modeling page. Lots of photos on this one.

06/10/2014
I've slowly been adding to the Plastic Modeling page (here), and tonight I've added the first part in a build article on the old MPC STAR WARS B-Wing Heavy Assault Fighter. This build shows that a lot can be done to even the simplest of kits. I'll be adding more to this build page later, but for now, you can check out the progress so far, and also the other plastic models on the Plastic Modeling page.

Several years ago, I lost my No-Cal Cessna CR-3 on an OOS flight. I finally decided to replace it, as it was one of my first No-Cal designs, and is still one of my favorites. I included several modifications to the new build, and made a page for them. Here's the link to the No-Cal CR-3 modifications page:
My New No-Cal Cessna CR-3 and some Modifications

I'm expanding the section on my plastic model builds. Here's a link to that page:

NEW Flying Scale Plan now available!
Farman 1926 Carte Postale Sport

Here's a little 12" wingspan plan for the 1926 Farman Carte Postale Sport.

The little two-seat 1926 Sport had a huge wing for it's size, and it is absolutely one of the cutest models you'll ever see. It has a simple box fuselage, and builds very quickly (except for the exhaust).

Initial test flights have already yielded flights of 57 seconds, with more on tap. If you can resist this one, you've got no modeling soul!

12/31/2004

NEW No-Cal Plan now available!
Crosby CR-4 racer

Here's a No-Cal plan for the Crosby CR-4 racer. The CR-4 was one of the sleekest, most streamlined golden age racers ever designed. Teething troubles kept it out of the hunt, but when it ran, it was FAST! This No-Cal model is a reproduction of the 1938 version sponsored by the Sherwin-Williams paint company, and is suited for outdoor flying.

12/19/2004

NEW No-Cal Plan now available!
Makhonine MAK-123

Here's a No-Cal plan for the Makhonine MAK-123. The MAK-123 was a research aircraft with extendable wings. The wings were extended for take-off, and retracted at altitude for speed. As a No-Cal, it's got a LOOONG nose, and did 2:15 on it's VERY FIRST FLIGHT! And that under a 26 foot ceiling!

11/30/2004

NEW No-Cal Plan now available!
Piper PA-32R-300 Cherokee Lance

Here's a No-Cal plan for the Piper PA-32R-300 Cherokee Lance. It's got very nice proportions, and broke two minutes on only it's second flight. It's already up to 2:35 under a 26 foot ceiling with more to come.
The plan color scheme is shown in the graphic on the right. Here's a link showing
ten alternate color schemes
- something for everyone!

Chris Starleaf Wins FAC NATS 2004 Thompson Trophy race at Geneseo with an AERO ACES Cessna CR-3 kit !
